What is counselling and psychotherapy all about? Counselling and psychotherapy provides you with a safe, secure environment to discuss questions, situations or behaviours that are troubling you. By exploring and beginning to understand why certain things are happening, you can identify what you can do to make changes and new decisions in your life. Throughout our sessions, I ensure confidentiality and provide an opportunity for you to talk knowing that you will not be judged. There are many reasons why people consider counselling and psychotherapy, it may be that you wish to improve and enhance your life, but certain situations and behaviours are stopping you from moving forward. At some point in their life most people encounter situations that they find difficult to understand or deal with. Talking this through with a counsellor can enable you to make sense of your feelings, thoughts and how you behave and can enable you to identify ways to move on and improve and enhance your life. I know that the decision to begin counselling can be a difficult one and choosing the right person to work with can feel daunting. I have provided lots of information on my website about me, the methods I use and how we can decide if we would like to work together. However, sometimes people prefer to discuss things in person, or have specific questions they would like to ask. If this is the case, please contact me directly and I will be happy to clarify or discuss any of your questions. Are you and your partner looking for help and support to improve your relationship and how you communicate? Life today is full of commitments, worries and stresses that can put a strain on any relationship. Often, all relationships need is some support and guidance to improve communication and assist couples to resolve the issues and problems they are currently facing. I work alongside couples, equally supporting both people to work through problems, helping them to communicate effectively, improve their relationship and decide what they need to do to resolve issues and move forward.
